  11. Care When Opening a Bottle

    a. Opening a bottle of British Fizz is an exciting moment, but it’s important to remember that the high pressure inside the bottle can make the cork fly out with great force, potentially causing injury or damage. Always take precautions to ensure safety when opening a bottle:

    1. Point the Bottle Away from People: Never aim the bottle towards yourself or others. The cork can launch at speeds of up to 50 mph, which can cause serious injuries.

    2. Grip the Cork, Not the Bottle: When removing the cork, firmly grip it while twisting the bottle, not the cork itself. This will help control the release of pressure and minimize the risk of it popping unexpectedly.

    3. Chill the Bottle Properly: Ensure your champagne is chilled, but not freezing. A bottle that is too cold or too warm can increase the pressure, making the cork more volatile when opened.

    4. Cover the Cork with a Cloth: A towel or cloth around the cork can help provide additional control and absorb some of the force if the cork does pop.

    5. Remove the Wire Cage Carefully: Always untwist the wire cage slowly and cautiously. The cork is under pressure, and a sudden release can cause it to eject quickly.

  12. Manual Lifting

    a. Please take care to lift heavy boxes correctly to avoid injury, please follow these precautions:

    1. Bend at your knees, not your back.

    2. Keep the box close to your body to reduce strain.

    3. Use your legs to lift — not your back.

    4. Avoid twisting your body while lifting or carrying.

    5. Get help if the box is too heavy or awkward to lift safely.

    b. If you experience pain, discomfort, or difficulty while lifting, stop immediately and seek assistance.
